- 9 days until the wedding
- 7 dozen cookies to decorate
- 1 pair of shoes still to arrive

Canada Day was pretty lazy but I am still ridiculously tired today and need a nap something fierce. I also fell asleep on the GO this morning and am fairly certain that I twitched and kicked the guy across from me. Ooops!

Lonely Planet's top 10 countries for 2009:

* Algeria
* Bangladesh
* Canada
* Georgia
* Greenland
* Kyrgyzstan
* Oman
* Peru
* Rwanda
* Sierre Leone

I am not entirely sure that I agree with...most of those.

The lusty month of May....

Sunday, May 24, 2009

...so the song goes. My May has been all business, and not business in a Flight of the Conchords "Business Time" sense of business, but in the work work sense.

It's a busy time at work, because a lot of my stuff is coming due to client, going out to PAAB (regulatory body), and the head writer for my other brands is away. This however does mean that I got to work on a project for pharmacists (in B.C. only), which I feel like I have a special insight into since I am living with one. Fun! We'll see if the client likes it or goes with the stuff that was originally proposed.

Watched "Jesus Camp" today, a documentary on how "child Christian soldiers" are taught/indoctrinated/brainwashed. It was pretty interesting and had a lot of good soundbites. Boyfriend and I had a nice discussion about it.

Our garden looks half-good. As in, half the veggies look good, half look absolutely dreadful. I blame the terrible clay soil. And not like, clay loam, like CLAY. It's like trying to dig in the plasticine stuff that you use in art class in elementary school. For reals.

Where did April go?

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

I really thought I had done an April post already. My mistake.

We're moved to the middle of nowhere now. The local mall has a parole office in it.

Been doing some crafting.

Work is good, I'm working on a website today for doctors. It's pretty cool. If you have a medical license then you'll be able to see it. The rest of you, I'm afraid, will have to obtain fake medical licenses if you're interested.

This weekend we're making our wedding bands, which should be very fun!

Wedding, moving, busiest week ever.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

So, this weekend Adam and I decided that we didn't like the pocketfolds for our invitations and so Sunday we went out and bought new paper and went to Kinko's and got it all cut and they are finally in the mail. We also registered this week at Home Outftters and The Bay. We packed to move. I decided that I really do want an actual photographer and now we have one. Also have to go in to school and get some lab reports to mark and meet with Jaideep and am also meeting with a friend since I'm leaving Guelph.

Next tasks are to figure out our favours and guestbook and unity candle (unity *sand* is the new thing) and a zillion other things.

Hope that you are all having fun enjoying the nicer weather!

What I do at work

Thursday, February 26, 2009

So, I'm sure that since I changed jobs (well, got a job) some of you are wondering what I DO there. I will tell you about what I did today.

Task #1: Design some ads for a drug that will be marketed to doctors. This is mainly imagery stuff, but also coming up with interesting taglines. Involved searching through pictures online and doing some drawing and some cutting and pasting and some brainstorming and looking things up in a thesaurus.

Task #2: An ongoing task, reading lit for the abovementioned drug. It's actually very interesting but unfortunately for me very statistic heavy. MCID's and %max Q-LES-Q SF, lots of acronyms.

Task #3: Online keyword/ad copywriting. Basically I wrote some ads that will appear as the "sponsored ads" on Google, dependent on keywords. So, I was given the keywords and had to write a headline (25 characters) and 2 description lines (35 characters each) that will appear and hopefully get people to click on the link. I made 2 for each keyword then they asked me to select my favourite 7 to submit to the client. We will see if they make the cut.

So, that's a piece of what I do. Today was fun, I don't normally get to do that online keyword stuff, I hope that I'll get to do some more. I hope this fills you in a bit!
